Transparency
- NAADAM created a series of videos giving transparency into their supply chain and impact-related achievements.
- They prefer working with suppliers that have certifications like Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), OEKO-TEX, and Responsible Wool Standard and Global Recycled Standard (GRS).
- NAADAM can improve their transparency by including a factory list revealing the locations and the amount of factories in its operation.
Fair Labor
- NAADAM invests in the Mongolian herder communities by investing in veterinary care for their animals, for example. Another example is NAADAM funded livestock insurance for a dozen families which protects herders against losses related to mortality, disease, and drought.
- NAADAM pays benefits to workers in their supply chain.
- NAADAM can improve their fair labor score by sharing how many of their clothing makers earn a living wage. Their goal is currently 100% by 2025, but their current progress is unknown.
Sustainably Made
- NAADAM became a carbon-free freight shipper by calculating the footprint of their shipping emissions and offsetting those emissions via the Carbon Fund.
- Their clothes are dyed in facilities that use a closed-loop water filtration system. This means that the wastewater that is used in their production process is cleaned and treated on-site so that it can be reused.
- NAADAM has a concentrated supply within a tight radius, which helps to minimize the emissions used in transportation.
